December 28, 2014
Sadly, most of my cats (the ones who needed it most) won't touch food that this is in, or liquid that it has been dissolved in. The others had no problem with it, but I probably won't buy it, again, if I can only use it for a few of the cats.UPDATED: 3 May, 2015 One of my cats, who has stomatitis, had been getting this in his food twice daily, with no issues. I reordered last month, and the formula seems to have changed. It no longer has a pleasant smell to it, and the kitty won't eat food with this in it, unless the food is stinky enough to cover the odor. Why did they change the flavoring and/or scent? Also annoyed at the huge price increase.

Good food additive at great price.
December 13, 2014
I like it. The cats, not so much, but they are getting used to it. Start with a small pinch in their food then build up to desired dosage. It keeps their herpes dormant and minimizes other conditions. Good product. Much cheaper than Viralys.

Great product
November 19, 2014
Got this for my kitten who has feline herpes. Sprinkle it on wet food and he laps it up. It keeps him from having symptoms--does what it is supposed to do. Great product, will order again and again.

Good choice, reasonable price

I have been giving this to my cat - who has feline herpes - everyday for 2 years now. She has never exhibited symptoms, so I am very pleased with this product. I can mix it in her food, and she gobbles it right up!

This is the third jar of L-Lysine we've used and the first of this name brand. Of the three I'd say this one is the most effective.

Cats love the taste
September 24, 2014
My cats love the taste! Previously I'd tried a chewy supplement, but it was too hard for the kitten to chew and the older cat didn't like it. I'm excited to see if it clears up their drippy eyes caused by feline herpes. I will come back and update. The scoop is handy and I'm able to sprinkle it on dry food no problem.

Much less concentrated compared to Viralys
September 23, 2014
I've used Viralys for 1.5 years and it's seemed to help my cat with her sinus issues. Her suffering has diminished and she's been symptom free for long stretches.I have noticed that I need to maintain a higher dose to keep her symptoms at bay. Lowering the dose does result in symptoms returning sooner. That is my issue with Felisyl (this product) vs. Viralys. I like that this was less expensive, but when I received it I compared labels and found this is half the strength per scoop. Upon opening, I found the scoop is BIGGER. I'll need to continue the therapeutic dosage level of Viralys meaning I'll be using two larger scoops where I was using one before. It will end-up way more expensive for me, so this will be one-and-done test before I return to Viralys.Just a watch-out as this isn't very evident on the disclaimers.I'll update if the cats don't tolerate well - so far the rating is strictly based on concentration and value.Update I dropped from two to one star - I've used Felisyl for about 4 weeks. Because of the larger scoop size, it adds much volume to the food I'm feeding my cat. She has recently stopped finishing her food and I've noticed her sneezing/watery eyes returning. I left out the Felisyl and she seemed happy to finish the serving, so I'm left believing it the added texture from the volume of product required for the dosing level. The only guaranteed food she'll finish with a full scoop is canned tuna - expensive but may be necessary to keep dosing level up and symptoms at-bay.

My veterinarian recommended
September 11, 2014
I have an extreme faced Himalayan. He is prone to URI's and my veterinarian recommended this product. My cat doesn't seem to notice this powder version in his meals and it seems to help keep him healthy. My cat also likes the paste form.

My cat seems to like the taste of this brand the best
September 5, 2014
I have a cat with stomatitis. L-lysine combined with Plaque-Off is helping significantly. My cat seems to like the taste of this brand the best. I ,ix it in his food when he is eating well and dissolve in water to dispense when the mouth is bad.

Great product
April 13, 2014
When shopping for a Lysine supplement for my FIV positive cat I had been used to the Viralys gel. Seeing as how the Felisyl brand was half the price I thought I'd give it a go. I feel that the powder allows me to be more accurate in the dosage. And my cat has transitioned very well. I will definitely be back for more when my supply runs out.

My furkid disapproved, but cats are finicky.
April 5, 2014
These products are hit and miss. My kitty didn't like this brand, so I'm trying another.4-Stars:My only complaint was when trying to mix this into the wet food, it didn't want to dissolve. It's very coarse - I'm not sure if that was a factor when trying to incorporate it into her food. When I was able to get her to eat it, her eyes stayed goop free, so it definitely works. If your kitty doesn't like one brand of a lysine product - don't lose hope, just try another brand. Sometimes it just takes trial and error to find a remedy.*Always check with your vet before starting any home remedy*

Kitty loves this stuff
February 12, 2014
If you're worried that your cat will not eat his/her food because of the taste of this product, have no worries. The scoop that you use is about 1/8th of a tsp. I place two scoops in his food once per day to keep his chronic herpes infection under control. I use this product in his evening meal, mixed into wet food. Never turns his nose up. In fact, I think he likes his food more!!

Kitties Are Crazy for It!
December 31, 2013
I had been mixing granules into canned cat food, but that is a very expensive treat. Thought I would try the kitty treat version. Both my cats are crazy for it. They try to open the bag themselves and remind me it's time for their treat. Far easier and not nearly as expensive as the powder.

support for herpes in cats
August 22, 2013
I went to a well established veterinary opthamalogist for my foster cat with herpes sore in her eye yesterday. He said a study done a few years ago revealed that lysine doesn't work unless you give it to the cat at the initial breakout of herpes.

My cats really loved this stuff
March 25, 2013
I liked the ease of using this product and my cats really seemed to enjoy the taste. I've tried to use the paste type before, but no-one was a fan, including me because it ended up all over my fingers! With this, I can just sprinkle it on top of their canned food and they eat it all up.

no objections from the cat

This lysine mixes well with canned food, and the cat doesn't seem to notice the difference in his food. Since he needs the lysine in his diet, and the price on this product is better than some, I think we will buy more.

Easy To Use
February 3, 2013
My vet recommended I use lysine for treatment of my cats recurring herpes. I had a bag of it that he gave me but lost it during a move. I ordered this product and I like it better than what I had from the vet. Unlike what the vet gave me, Felisyl comes in a screw lid container so I can shut it completely and not worry about it spilling. It also has a nice measuring scoop enclosed. I sprinkle a scoop into my kitty's wet food and most of the time he gobbles it up. He's a picky eater so there are times he won't eat any of his food, so I don't blame the Felisyl. As far as it's effectiveness, the jury is still out on that one. However, the vet recommended, so I'm hoping evenually it will slow his outbreaks down.

lysine powder was a hit!
January 6, 2013
My cats are all over the counter and try to stick their face in the container when I open it. I have 11 cats and my 2 recent kittens were diagnosed with felv after being with us over a month. My vet recommended lysine and this is a great value also for me in addition to the cats liking it!

product probably fine but the cat won't get near i
April 5, 2012
They say it is flavorless and odorless. The cat doesn't think so. Right now I am back to crushing human lysine tabs and then mixing them into soft food to hide it. Right now, that is fine but may try sneaking this into his soft food again soon to save me the trouble of mashing his pills. Too early to tell how this will work.
