I have a 10 year old German Shepherd with hip displasia and arthritis. She started having trouble getting up. This product helped a lot. I have her on the "loading dose" of 4 chews per day rather than 2 because when I dropped down to 2 she started having trouble again. She's much better now and even playful at times with our young dog.

I have an older golden retriever who would limp for days after a long walk. After taking this product for a month, he rarely limps anymore and we walk him daily. I definitely noticed a difference after he started taking hylox and would recommend it to anyone with a dog who has joint problems.

It's a good product. My dogs love the Hylox. It's hard to tell if they are adding to the dog's muscular flexibility (which it proposes to do). This won't be known until the dogs age; and then you need a dog who took it and a dog who didn't. I'm just going with helping them as much as I can, the same reason I take vitamins.I do think the cost is a little high, but cheaper than what I've found with like products and competitors.

This is a great product! It took about a month to see any difference but the dog loves them because they are like a soft treat. The price Amazon offers is great! If you have a dog that has any sort of hip problem or arthritis you need this!!

I have an elderly dog who has problems with stairs and getting around in general. Since starting this product she can manuver stairs and has a new pep in her step.

I entered this in reply to someone else's question but thought it would be useful to post it as a separate review so it's easier for people to find this information:Phycox or Phycox JS appear to be the same product, but Hylox is a completely different product. For some bizarre reason apparently Amazon imported the reviews for Phycox to this new product called Hylox. Maybe they were confused? Amazon sells both Phycox and Hylox. You can read the list of ingredients for both these products at the seller's own website, entirelypets.com. It *appears* to me that they both use naturally-derived Cox-2 inhibitors. Phycox uses Phycocyanin, that they've altered in some way to make it proprietary so it's tradmarked, and Hylox uses Sodium Hyaluronate. Another product called Arthrisoothe Gold, uses Hyaluronic Acid; a friend of mine is using that product and says it's making a HUGE difference for her dog. I'm not sure how similar Hyaluronic Acid and Sodium Hyaluronate are but it seems from their names that they must be related. I have been using Phycox and do notice a significant difference in my dog, but was looking to see if Hylox or Arthrisoothe might work better or be a better deal. Note though, that in calculating value, you can't just compare directly on quantity because dosages are different. Hylox looks like a better deal on the surface than Phycox, but for my dog's weight range (61-100) the maintenance dose is twice as many Hylox chews (4 daily) than Phycox chews (2 daily). The Arthrisoothe Gold dose is a range of 1.5 to 2 chews daily). Good luck!

Are Phycox and Hylox the same product? Some people in these reviews seem to be speaking of the two interchangeably; giving Phycox good reviews on the Hylox page, etc. I am trying to find a comparison between the two products. My dog has been on Phycox and it has been helpful, but if Hylox is better, I would switch. However, with these comments it almost sounds like many are 'advertising' for Phycox on the Hylox review page. Anyone who can clear up the confusion? Please post. Thank you.

When my maltese/poodle mix was 7 years old he screamed out in pain one day. The vet took x-rays and diagnosed arthritis in his front left paw and put him on Previcox-a potent prescription arthritis med. In less than a year he had to come off of it because his blood test results were getting worse over time. Vet suggested Phycox and gave me a 10 piece sample bottle. For 14 lbs I divide one piece into 4 and give him one every night. He loves it so much he drools for it. In almost 2 years (he's 10 now) he has not had any problems, pain or blood tests and I am thrilled!!!

I find this product especially good for older dogs with arthritis. I have two older dogs with hip dysplasia and arthritis that are able to get around much better since I started them on this product. It is working so good that I now give all my dogs the Hylox supplement.

Our dog is 13yrs old and has arthritis so bad that she cannot go for walks or if she jumped off the couch her leg gave out. (We tried to lift her down before she would jump) We were thinking we might have to put her down because she was in pain and didnt think there was anything that could help. I tried this product and within a month (it takes a little while to get in their systems) we had a new dog. This little girl was running with our big boys and had become playful again. THere is no limp or anything. She does have a limp if the weather becomes suddenly cold and we just give her an extra chew that day and she is fine. Our product lasts 3-4 months on one container of this due to her small size.

This product is an improvement over the prior discontinued product that was being used. My dog was having hind leg joint problems and now will jump up amd stand on his legs where he would not previously. This after taking for approximately 2 months.

This product shipped and arrived as expected from [...]. Most importantlyis working as claimed. We have an 8 year old German Shepard who had become slower and did not get up so fast. Last October (2009) we began treating after this product was recommended by our vet. The results are unbelievable! Even after a few days we could see it beginning to work. This is clearly making a strong positive difference. We have our dog back again! She gets up and runs and plays like when she was 2. She loves the chews and thinks they are candy. I am very picky about what products I use and my Vet is even more careful about recommending anything. There are other joint supplements but this one has a different combination of active ingredients that cannot be found in stores. I have no reservation recommending this product.

Last winter I noticed my 4 year old basset/terrier mix was limping. I thought it was the cold and ice and snow or cut on his pad. Come spring, he was still holding that rear leg up. The vet said he had arthritis in his knee and gave us 60 Hylox for $40. When I was running out I decided to check Amazon for a better price. I could get twice as much for the same price! Six months after starting the Hylox - Mister AJ is acting like a puppy instead of an old dog! Now that we're starting winter in New England again, I won't have to worry about him.

This is the 3rd. time I've purchased this product for my Bull Terrier Grace. She has a mineralization of tissues in her front wrists. This product has helped her greatly Normally I buy the full sized soft chews but due to manufacturing glitch(not making enough product for the demand duh!!) I was forced to buy the small bites and give her twice as much. Thses chews have helped ease her pain so I do not have to give her much pain medication. I'm always pleased with Entirely Pets(through Amazon) and their quick shipping. If your dog has any joint pain I would recommend this product. Phycox products are wonderful for the dogs with joint pain and arthritic changes. My dogs have much more mobility since they started using this. Unfortunately, the Phycox products will not be available again until January, 2011. I was fortunate to find the Phycox JS Small Bites online. My vet ran out of them. My Husky/Collie/Golden Mix was getting a bit sluggish at 9 years old. Since I have been giving him PhyCox-JS his ability to move has been much easier. I believe it has helped with his joints tremendously. I am very happy with the product and so is Tundra.

Our mastiff was a rescue so we don't know her history or age. The Vet recommended this particular supplement to ward off problems large dogs usually wind up having. She loves them and runs around as though she was a pup. If they keep her pain free they are worth every penny. This site had them the cheapest but our Vet actually charges the same.

When I went to my vet they were selling 30 of them for over $30.00 -- so it was a great value and I would definitely order from them again. This stuff works great for dogs with arthriis, I have seen a HUGE difference in my pups, they are very active, they jump, they play, and they have more energy. I think this stuff is wonderful and recommended this website and product to many of my friends that have dogs and they are very happy as well.

We were recommended these by our vet and they are expensive throught the vet, and they gave our dog gas until his stomach learned to cope, but man is there an improvement, he runs around and plays with our new puppy like he is one, and he is almost 10. He was in severe pain, but with the use of these and doggie pilates, he's a new dog. I recommend these to everyone that has any problems with their dogs joints or backs.

I bought this for my 8 year old poodle/terrier who all of the sudden wasn't jumping or running like he use to. Our vet gave us a 10 day sample and we were amazed at the change in our dog. PhyCox soft chews were recommended by my vet for my 120 lb puppy. Because Bernese Mountain Dogs grow so large so quickly, he recommended this product to help with his hips. So far, so good. He's 16 months old now and healthy and happy! Much cheaper to buy on Amazon.com then at my vet.

Product was great, but a little costly.Our lab loves them, we use them as treats.

My 7-year old black lab, boxer, collie mix was limping terribly on her front leg. X-rays showed arthritis in both front shoulders, so she was on a regimen of pain killers, anti-inflammatory meds, and bone builders. Still, she showed no improvement and appeared lethargic. A friend in another state told me about PhyCox-JS Soft Chews and sent me 60 that were obtained at her vet's office. My vet hadn't heard of them, so wouldn't prescribe the medication. However, since I was seeing no improvement and PhyCox seemed to have fewer side effects, I gave it a try. It's been two months, now, and I see no sign of a limp. She is more alert and is back to normal. PhyCox-JS Soft Chews are miracle pills!

My vet recommended this, and I hesitated because of the price. It's well worth it, and we're on the 3rd container. We had out of town guests who hadn't seen our dog since before we started it, and they were amazed that he was "back" to his normal energetic self. I guess his joints really were hurting! I'm so glad I am able to spend the money to buy him some comfort and some more quality time.

I'd heard so many great things about this product from my trainer whose dog had great results, and I think the chews DID help my 10-year-old JRT, but he hated them.I had to plead with him to eat his half chew (adding a touch of butter or peanut butter, etc.). Finally I gave up the morning he threw up one. I'm going to try a similar product, and see if my trainer wants to buy a jar with all but about four chews left ...

If you are looking to save money at the Vet and get the same product, then I would highly recommend this product. The first time I ordered I was weary that it wasn't the same product and may be a knock off of the real product, but happily it's the real thing with the same ingredients, label and smell! It is by fair a great deal and they ship quickly. Spend you extra dollars elsewhere! :-)

I have a 12+ year old Sheltie with joint issues. Therapies tried were glucosamine/chondroitin and msm combinations along with some gentle daily musculoskeletal massage. The results were disappointing. There was small improvement but not significant enough to give my pet a better quality of life. I am student working on my Master of Nursing and my pet's vet asked if I could evaluate a product that he was using for his pet. From my understanding, the benefits showed moderate to much improved joint mobility, decreased pain, and an increase in ambulation of all extremities from using Phycox.Well, WOW!!! I was joyously happy to evaluate Phycox for the opportunity to give my pet some relief.I consistently administered Phycox for three weeks. After approximately a week and a half, I did see some small improvement. My pet was quicker to rise and he followed me into the household rooms more often. I was thrilled. However, I thought perhaps that I was also biased and my perception of the product results skewed because I wanted it to work so badly. By the end of the third week of using the product, my pet had markedly improved. Albeit, he was not a zippy 7 year old pup again, but he was living life more comfortably and able to move more freely. His comfort means so much to me.I discontinued the product after three weeks. My pet finished the product and the evaluation period ended. After one week of discontinuing the product, I noticed his joint movement slowly deteriorate. Then, of all things, my husband (no prior knowledge of our pet taking the Phycox), turns to me and says "is he ok? He doesn't seem to be moving around like he was. I just took him outside and he isn't running around the yard like he has been. He went to the bathroom and stood there and came in." Oh, my!!!! Folks, we have a winner!! I immediately purchased the biggest bottle of the soft chew Phycox I could find. I am so pleased with the results. Again, it is not a miracle in the sense you will get a puppy back, but who knows!!! It may bring comfort and mobility to many pets. I sure hope it does. Just what the doctor ordered. The price was great, and the shipment included an additional small container with 10 tablets and two additional 1 tablet samples....what a deal.Our dog likes to eat them (yellow lab....they like eating anything!), and it seems to have helped his artheritis...he gets up a little easier.

Our 11 year old has major rear knee arthritis. After a month of this treatment, she was much improved. These are hard on her stomach though, especially at the treatment dosage (maintenance dosage is 1/2 of treatment dosage), even when given with meals. Price is 40% less than at the vets (I am sorry, I find the vets 100% markup to be a bit extreme).07/09/2009: We continue to be pleased with results on maintenance dosage, but stomach discomfort has continued. We finally began splitting the chew in half, and crumbling 1/2 chew at the bottom of her bowl, with every meal, and placing her kibble on top. With 2 meals per day we are able to give Sadie her maintenance dose of 1 chew per day with greatly reduced stomach discomfort.

Our 14 year old Border Collie has been progressively getting worse: limping, trouble getting up, sleeping all the time, difficulty going up and down stairs. The vet put her on Novox about 2 years ago. It helped somewhat but her condition continued to decline. My dog walker/pet masseuse recommended that I try Phy-cox chews and Trixsyn liquid supplement. After almost one month on both, I see a remarkable difference. She has begun to jump up on the sofa again and even initiates play with our other younger dog. She goes up and down the stairs without much hesitation. I can also recommend the use of a pet masseuse for your arthritic dog. That has been very helpful too! I am giving this to my 4 year old dobie girl who limps quite a lot after play. Changing nothing else in our routine, this supplement works phenomanally! I can still tell that she's tender..... but her hurt is so much better than it was! NO limping whatsoever. For the reasonable price of this product, and the awesome way it works, I'll gladly suppliment her diet with this. I'm sure there are other formulas out there, but this formula has proven to be truly a fine product.

This product is amazing - we have 2 Rottweilers, 7 and 5, that we both adore, but the 7 year old is getting arthritic. My husband took the 7 year old to the vet and said he would pay any amount for something that would take all the pain away. In 1 week, the difference was amazing! Instead of struggling to stand, he is now running around like a puppy. Amazing.

My vet recommended this product for my 8 year old Labrador. I had noticed that she had stiffened up in the morning or after a laying for extended periods. She has now been on PhyCox for a little over a month and I have noticed a significant difference.

After three days of giving our eleven year old dog the chews, we noticed a difference. After a week she was her normal active self. She loves the chews (thinks she is getting a treat), and we intend to keep on using them.

Not going to make a long, drawn out speech. Will simply say that this product seems to work well to reduce the sore joint symptons our older dogs experience. The dogs like them and see them as a treat instead of a supplement.

I received a sample of PhyCox from our vet for our overweight, 13-year old, Black Lab. It is much cheaper to buy it through Amazon. After using PhyCox for about a month she now seems to be getting around a bit better. She loves these treats. Other brands don't seem so tasty.

This product works well for my 13 year old Golden Retreiver. She had previously been on the maximum dose of Novox for her size, to ease the pain of her arthritis. I have been able to cut the dosage of the Novox in half, after adding PhyCox JS to her regime.
