We recently changed from the typical litter box to the Cat Genie, We have 3 cats - 2 of them accepted the changed with no problems - then there is our pri ama dona - what problems we have had with her. She defecated on the carpet - no problem finding that, but then she urinated several places and did not see this until the smell got horrific, found her "special" spots with a black light, the smell was so nauseating, checked online as to what to do, found an article about Urine Off. Ordered it and followed directions as directing, spraying, placing plastic on top and waiting overnight - sprayed again and since I have a steam vac, I filled it with water, sprayed plain water and sucked up the areas (at least 5 that we found) with the steam vac. What can I say - I'm sold - it has removed 90% of the smell, we will do it once more after Thanksgiving day. Urine-Off really does work! Some research chemist someplace really did their homework to get it right for combating cat urine odor. I didn't cover up the area like the instructions said, but I did saturate the area with a spray bottle. If I had covered it up with plastic per the instructions, the cover would have gotten moved at some point in the day accidently by the cats, which is why I left it off. It still worked as claimed anyway. Some spots needed a multiple applications, either because it was extra dirty there, or I didn't spray enough the first time, no matter, it still worked to neutralize the smell and greasy-ness of the carpet nap. After a few days, I then shampooed the area with a home carpet cleaner, and the smell has not returned. Well worth the money as this is the first item of all that I've tried that actually does work. Now if they could make a non-foaming one for home carpet cleaners, and the clothes washer, I'd use it.

It worked well after three applications. Last two included covering area. I would recommend this product to friends. It was recommended to me by our vet.

I have to admit that I was skeptical about this product because I had been through so many similar products that didn't work. I have a male cat who recently had a UTI and had some areas where he had "accidents". I had tried everything to remove the odor and had finally decided that we were going to have to just rip everything out and recarpet. I came across Urine Off and after reading the reviews I decided to go for one last desperate attempt. I followed the directions exactly (I ended up using the whole gallon so if you have a recurring problem I would order 2 right from the beginning). I covered the area with a tarp and left it for 24 hours. I was shocked when I removed the tarp. The odor is completely gone! This is a fantastic product.

PASSES THE SMELL TEST!I am only reviewing the odor-removal capabilities of this product. I don't have carpeted floors and my cat doesn't go on any fabric. So I can't review for those qualities.--------------------------------------------------I have an older cat who has gotten quite lazy. She's decided that there's no reason she should bother stepping all the way into the litter box when she can just step in half way and urinate over the side! It works fine for her - and takes fewer steps!!She was driving me CRAZY! And ruining the hardwood floor at the same time. One day it occurred to me I could just put a large flat diaper under the litter box right in the path of where she goes. That works great. Except of course - it only takes about 6 hours before it starts stinking in there. Diapers as you know, don't have any odor control!A few days later it dawned on me that maybe I could use one of those odor removal products on the diaper - just so I wouldn't have to change it every 6 hours!Urine Off was the first one I tried... mostly because it came in an industrial-sized container.Anyway, it has been AWESOME! I pour some into a spray bottle and then I spray the diaper whenever she goes. And it kills the odor instantly. And I don't even have to spray the spot every time. It seems one dose is enough for several of her urinations. I now change the diaper... you're gonna die when I tell you and I know no one would recommend going this long - but I promise you this is all I need to change it... once every THREE weeks! Urine Off literally completely kills the odor on a diaper that the cat is going on several times everyday... for up to three weeks! It amazes me.I can't speak to what it does with stains or if it repels the cat from going in that spot. Although I don't think it does because if it did she wouldn't go near her litter box anymore. So for my purposes this is the perfect product, because I didn't actually want something that would repel her.In reading the product description they don't claim that it does repel cats afterwards - only that it removes odor. And that I can attest it does very well!So if it's odor you're worried about - UrineOff is definitely you're product!

I was using 'home grown' recipes for containing cat urine smells. It did help at first but the cats always found their spots; one chair I thought was a lost cause. Until I came across this product, I had read a lot of the reviews and decided to try it. Urine Off is all that it claims and then some! I am really glad I tried it and have recommended it to my friends. That chair I thought was a lost cause, doesn't even smell like it ever had a problem. THANK YOU!

I'm so glad I tried this, it really works. I have lots of experience over many years with pet urine problems and have used everything else and have even replaced subfloors and carpet. I usually used Nature's Miracle, but when that combines with urine a new odor is created which in time became even more disgusting to my nose than the original urine on its own and I became sensitized to it. No matter how much I cleaned, it seemed I could still smell that, forever. Tried the Urine-Off, not available locally. It arrived literally the day after I ordered (and free shipping). The Urine-Off does have a scent of its own which is quite nice, light and clean smelling. When you apply it, the smell of the urine goes away completely (to your human nose) right away. I will say that I have only used it on reasonably fresh stains so far. (I won't know for some time if the cats can be fooled, I doubt it really, but at least I and my guests won't smell anything at all.) I'm using a bit of this in my carpet shampooer too, but only a bit as it does foam up.

It definitely takes multiple uses to get out old stains, but it eventually works. I wish this were cheaper, as you have to completely saturate the stain and you can't dilute the product. Other than that, it seems to work. Get a black light so you can find the stains and you don't waste any of this stuff.

Be careful. You'll need to have a (good) carpet cleaning machine with good suction on hand to use this stuff. It may bring the stains up and you'll not be able to get rid of the stains without a steam cleaner on hand. I used my StinkFinder blacklight to find the spots. Then used Urine Off in a pump sprayer like someone else said and it was a better application of product. Interestingly invisible stains in the morning were visible and yellow, even more so for the old ones. So if you don't have a carpet cleaner in the closet, don't do this the night before company. I used a Hoover Steamcleaner machine. Seems to work pretty good on the smell and I was glad it didn't bleach my carpet like some other stain solutions have. This cat is lucky I love him so much!

I've tried several products of this kind and Urine Off produced the best results. A heavily soiled area may take more than one application but this was the only product that stopped one of my cats that had been marking an area. It did such a fine job of removing the odor that he has not returned to that spot.

We have four of our own cats and have had an array of foster cats over the years (more than 80 over many years). Most of the time, they use the litter box, but when there is stress or illness, we've had some peeing issues - carpet, as well as furniture. We are currently in the midst of a pee disaster in our living room where several cats have taken to peeing in one spot - everyone is stressed with new baby, new house, and new foster cats. Don't think of adopting your cat out if he or she is peeing. This will solve your problem.This is the only stuff that has ever worked to really get rid of the smell over time. You have to let it saturate the carpet and it takes a few days to dry, but once it does the smell actually seems gone. Don't mess around with vinegar or lemon juice or whatever - and please don't feel like you have to replace your carpet. Buy a gallon, saturate the area, and you should be set. You must make sure it gets all the way to the bottom of the carpet - don't bother with a little spray bottle - it won't go deep enough. You might as well just pour it on. We've had success with it, and it will save our poor carpet this time too. Best of luck!

Our young cat pees on anything new. The Urine Off has a pleasant Febreeze-like smell unlike some of the other cleaners that were almost worse than the cat pee. I will say that I don't exactly find it as pleasant as I used to since I now associate the smell with cat pee, but friends and neighbors won't at least. You need a lot of the stuff, though. I mean a lot. Don't think you can just spray a little down. You need to pour because it has soaked down into the carpet and padding and subfloor or well into the innards of your furniture. The uv light that came with the tiny spray bottle I first got at an area pet retailer does a good job of locating the spots in very dark conditions, but you will need a much larger bottle than that unless your cat has been very discriminating in his inappropriate peeing. You're also going to need some way to get it back up from the carpet after it dries. So you'll either need a friend who doesn't mind repeatedly loaning his/her carpet cleaner or consider the investment yourself. My mom's getting a little irritated with the borrowing. I've ordered another gallon and hope it arrives soon. Since it does NOT seem to stop repeat soiling for me, I'm on to cat attract litter to see if that works.

Works extremely well on kitty urine. Some situations require multiple treatments but the smell to humans is usually gone. Kitties can still locate the accidents in some cases. Definitely the best product on the market for kitties.

I have 2 rescue cats who continuously mark my home. I am very sensitive to smells and can't stand even a hint of pet odor. I have tried Urine Gone, Out Pet Stain and Odor Remover, multiple regular carpet cleaners, home remedies, and professional cleaning with no help. I was about to give up when I tried Urine-Off. After following the instructions, the odors were virtually eliminated! It also has a very pleasant fresh scent while it's working which I love! I recommend this product to everyone, especially those who are frustrated with problem cats!

This is the only product I have ever used that actually removes the odor of cat urine. It really does work. I have used it exclusively for 2 years now for a beloved cat that started misbehaving at age 13. Thanks to this product, I did not have to get rid of my cat. I recommend a heavy duty UV light source for finding sources of urine to go along with this product (not the little hand held tube ones commonly available at pet stores or sold with pet odor solutions). I purchased one also on Amazon: Streamlight Twin-Task 3C 9 Inch UV Flashlight, Black #51010. The only thing that could improve my quality of life above these 2 products is if my cat were to actually start behaving, so I don't have to resort to finding and cleaning up his mess!!

My 15 year old cat has started to make it a habit of peeing all over my brand new carpet. I've tried a number of products, and this one seems to be the most effective. The urine stains are slowly fading under a blacklight, and the smell is almost completely gone. Overall I'm quite happy with this product, though until kitty learns to use the litter box I suspect I'll have to buy quite a bit more!

This stuff was recommed to us by a passing customer in a pet store. You really do have to get the carpet good and soaked for this to work correctly, but it's worth it because it really does get the odor out. It has a pleasant scent that isn't too strong, and is not at all 'chemical' smelling. Now I just have to get my cats to stop peeing in the same place....

It took a while for the product to ship, but the cost savings was worth the wait. The product is really great to help with those occasional accidents.

Of course, this is the kind of product you're slightly embarassed to admit you need, but if you have cat(s) you inevitably will.This product does take care of odor and works really well on carpets. Contrary to the manufacturer's claim, it will not reverse cat pee damage to fabric and wood (the bleach and dye effect), but we all knew that was too good to be true, didn't we?We've found that if you saturate the area, let it dry for a LONG time--like several days--treat it again, and then clean the carpet, it does remove the (ahem) evidence. In our house it seems to remove all of it, but we're not unusually sensitive. I suppose if you're really nose-conscious, you wouldn't have cats in the first place.I recommend buying it in gallons, because it takes a lot of product to treat an area. I also recommend buying a small pump sprayer (ACE Hardware, about seven dollars), because a spray bottle neither covers evenly, nor holds enough.I wish I could train the cats to do it themselves.

We adopted two cats from a rescue shelter, a male first and then a female a couple of days later. They got along okay in the beginning but became more and more jealous of each other. The male had to be the boss of everything...food, toys and attention. The female started getting back at him about two months later by wetting in his favorite hang-out spots on the floor and then on my husband's leather recliner. I tried Nature's Miracle on the carpet first but it didn't work. The smell was still there and she went back and wet on the same spot.After researching online and reading the reviews and tips from other customers, I ordered a gallon of Urine Off For Cats through Amazon, as well as a blacklight from Walmart and a big marinade infuser syringe from Linens N Things. The blacklight found spots we were unaware of, including under the recliner. I took masking tape and marked the area about 6" beyond each spot on the carpet and then marked spots about 4" apart within each circle. I poured about 3 cups of Urine Off into a 4 cup measuring cup to make it easier to draw the solution into the syringe. Then I injected each spot with a full syringe of Urine Off, marking each spot with an X in pen on the masking tape as I went along so I knew where I had already injected. Eventually the tip on the syringe was bending so I found that it was easier to use a big skewer to poke the hole first and then push the syringe into the carpet. When I finished injecting, I then filled a pump sprayer with the solution and saturated the top of the carpet. I covered the spots with plastic garbage bags for 2 days and then allowed them to air dry.For the leather recliner I had to pull the leather covers away from the back of the cushions and spray the leather both inside and out and around the zippers. I injected the cushions with the syringe like I did the carpet and put them in garbage bags. I also put a plastic tarp under the chair and sprayed everywhere the urine may have gone on top and underneath of the chair including any padding and all of the metal and springs. Then I covered it all with plastic bags for 2 days before letting it air dry. Check the cushions to be sure mold doesn't start growing. I removed them from the plastic early. I used a leather conditioner afterwards to restore the pliability to the leather. The metal underneath began to rust in some places, but it came off with WD 40 when we treated the hinges afterwards.I wish I could say I only had to do all of this work once, but I had to repeat it a second time before all of the smell was gone to my sensitive nose. To be fair, the directions say it may take two or more treatments for the smell to be eliminated. Also, I had used the Nature's Miracle on the two small spots I was aware of first which may have made it harder for the Urine Off to work. I'm sure I didn't get down to the subfloor with the Nature's Miracle and I didn't cover it with plastic. In fact, I used a fan on it to dry it faster which I now know is the opposite of what you should do. But because the Urine Off directions said you had to saturate the carpet, the padding and the subfloor below the padding, and also to widen the area that you treat beyond the original spots, I had to buy a 2nd gallon. To repeat the process, I bought a 3rd gallon. But the end result is that we don't smell any urine odor. Only a slight lemony smell of the solution remains. I was able to save our $1800 recliner, but sadly, my husband insisted that our female cat go back to the rescue shelter. I'm sure she will be much better off as an only cat who is queen of her castle just as our boy enjoys being king.

I of course had a problem with a new kitty who had never seen a dog before. Well she found two spots that she could hide from our sweet little dog. And of course did her business there. Anyway after about 14 different products I bought the Urine-off just for cats in the gallon. I used that along with a flavor injector I bought in Wal-mart for 2 bucks. I had to attack the spots two times, but it is looking good so far. I gave this product 4 stars instead of 5 because I had to coat the two spots twice each.
