Cats Favorite Toy
May 31, 2023
The Da Bird Cat toy is the most favorite toy in our Cat Shelter - our cats love it. In fact they love it so much that the feathers do not last long but give our cats great exercise!! The feathers are easily changed out which make s the toy even more special!
Pros
  • Entices the cats to play - the feathers are durable and last a long time. Even our most quiet and reserved cat come alive when this toy in introduced to them!
Cons
  • No Cons to this toy at all!

I have super playful kitty (6 yr. old) and this fishing pole style bumped up playtime. She runs/jumps until she's panting and wants more. She actually begs to play, but then we have to go to work. She needs a friend, but this will do for now.
Pros
  • Cord doesn't tangle
  • sturdy turkey feathers
  • swap out/replacement "bait"

Both my cats love this toy. They share it as I swing it back and forth; first one will bat at it and than the second cat will bat at it (no fighting)

Always a favorite toy!

This is our fifth or sixth purchase of da bird. It provides plenty of entertainment and exercise for our two large cats. I keep it out of reach because while one cat insists on biting through the elastic string to carry the bird away, the other one simply likes to 'catch and release'. So, it's supervised play only for us.

Da Bird

Da Bird has been rated the number one favorite cat toy for many years. We were pleased to get a new one and interested in trying some of the others as displayed on the wrapper.

I am glad to see these again. My two Siamese love to take turns catching the flying, slinking, limping 'bird' so much that I have to limit their time when they jump and twist too much to catch it. My cats are 8 and 17 yrs. I was fortunate enough to meet one of the developers at a cat show many years ago, and she showed me the figure eight flying pattern and we added some hopping and limping. She told me to use the undyed feather birds when I could find them. Cats smell the difference between the dyed and undyed. Love the product. I have never had any breakage because we play with it together and the bird goes into its "cage" when it is caught a few times.

My kitten loves da bird but since she is a kitten she's rough on toys and tore the feathers off within first week. I had to buy her another one

This is the best toy I have found for my omne year old Maine coon cat. He jumps so high to catch it that it wears him out so he sleeps all nite. He drags it around the house so someone will ay with him. I love it and so does my cat.

Best cat toy!
March 21, 2015
This is the best cat toy ever. My cats cannot resist chasing it. This is great way to burn off excess energy for cats house-bound by bad weather outside. This has saved a lot of wear & tear on the household furnishings. The only problem is that no feather refills are available.

My favorite cat toy
January 27, 2015
I love this cat toy. I've been looking for one like this for a long time as my old one broke. It's fun to play with the cats and get them running and jumping--great exercise. And the feathers handle well as compared to some too heavy items on "fishing rod" toys.

Exercise fun

Even my senior cats can't resist this "bird"! It lasts for weeks as long as one of them doesn't capture it. It is great fun for me as well as the cats.

Great while it lasts

My cat LOVED this toy, but it didn't last very long. Within a short amount of time, she had the feathers pulled out of the red rubber cap that they were glued into. But it did flutter just like a bird when you waved it thru the air which my cat really loved. My cat is on the small side of the spectrum, and just 1 year old.

Great Cat Toy
August 14, 2014
This is the all time favorite cat exerciser. Even our laid-back tabby cat gets moving with this one. One of our cats is the most active and managed to dislodge the feathers. Repair is easy with a drop or two of crazy glue to hold the feathers back in place. Better yet, add a replacement when you order.

Item was broken-but used as a refill

The "stick" (Which is really metal) was bent and broken when it arrived, so the feather only was used as a refill for another DaBird. My cats LOVE these things, they last about a week before they are destroyed.

I ordered Da Bird from Entirely Pets after I was unable to find it locally. I had several from years earlier, but they were worn out. When I received Da Bird from EntirelyPets.com, I unpacked it and our cats took to it immediately like no other toy we've ever had for them.

Not strong enough for Bengals! My cats had plenty of interest in this toy, but destroyed it in the blink of an eye. Also, when they grab onto the bird and pull, the handle comes apart.

Loved this Toy
August 27, 2013
Both my cats can't get enough of playing with this toy. The feathers are perfect for getting their attention and when outside I plant it in a flower pot and it twirls around with the breeze and the cats play on their own. Love this toy...will purchase another when this one gets bad.

We've had many, many Da Bird toys & this is by far our cats' favorite. They will chase it until they are exhausted. It flutters like a real bird & drives them crazy. Love it!!

My cats, a 13-yr. old, and a 1 1/2 yr. old, love this toy -- no matter what age, they love it. And, it gets all the energy out of them, too, so good toy. The string sometimes wears out before the toy, but I've had to replace the feather toy because they get it in their teeth and won't let go. Great toy +++++

My cats LOVE this toy. It is a great way to play and get them to burn some energy. Also great way to bond with new cats esp if they are rescues and a little skittish.

I have foster kittens and my own cats. They all love Da Bird, even my older cat. Although, be careful where you store it. I put mine in the pantry and they got the door open one night, and I had to buy another one. Every night, my Xena cries to play with Da Bird. She knows where I store it and watches when I get close to the drawer. All the kitties love it!! They all come out to play, and they have a blast! I have had to buy several refill Da Birds also.

DA BIRD IS DA BOMB!
January 1, 2013
my 2 kitties absolutely LOVE playing w/ this toy! swing your arms around the room while holding the end of the toy to simulate a flying bird--your kitty(s) will go nuts trying to capture the "bird"! yes you'll look like a dork...but isn't it worth it to make them happy? bonus: it gives them a workout. this is the BEST toy!

My cats go nuts for this toy
October 23, 2012
I have to hide this toy when I'm not playing with my cats because they love it so much, they would take it out of its package and carry da bird around in their mouths as a trophy - even if they didn't hunt for it. I bought one for a friend who has a couple of cats and they love it too!

String Not Strong enough....
June 15, 2012
Although my cats love this toy and gives them plenty of excerise, however, the string is not strong enough for attack play and chewing. My one year old chewed right through the string (I tied the two ends together) and my ten year old pull the string apart in another spot. I would buy another one if they fix the string problem.

Worth Buying

My cats went total crazy over this toy. The string gets entangled too often . Dont know if it depends on how we use. Other than that it is good.

Both my cats LOVE this toy! They will chase it in circles and leap into the air chasing it. It's an excellent toy to exercise an indoor cat.

Not just your usual cat dancer!

After being owned by cats for over thirty years, "The Royals" and I agree that this is the best cat toy ever! This isn't like some dead thing at the end of a string. There is something about the aerodynamics of the feathers that makes it flutter and swoop like it is alive. Even the laziest of my cats becomes fixated on capturing this. The only problem is that if you fly it too high, it will cause even elderly arthritic cats to make incredible leaps which can leave them as sore as an out of shape weekend athlete after a triathlon. I have to keep it low for the older guys, because it is too easy for both of us to get a little wild with exuberance! Wish it we easier to get refills, though.
