Fantastic product

My dog had been having borderline renal failure symptoms like disoriented and shaking. When he started taking this product his bodily function got better and better with no shaking and disorientation of where he was. I'm happy with this product.

Merchant Response:Angela thank you for sharing. We like reading reviews like yours. Cute dog.

Effective and Palatable

As my elderly cat has renal issues, potassium supplementation is needed. Renal K can be hidden in canned food readily. No pilling needed. I have tried another potassium gluconate product that my cat noticed in her food and rejected, but no issues with this product. Her labwork comes back now with good potassium levels. Great product!

Great Purchase

This product is great! I have been giving my cat (16yrs. old) for the past 5 years. She needs the potassium. I mix it with her food daily and she has no problems eating. Usually she is finicky. This stuff is great!

Great Buy!
April 18, 2016
My vet prescribed potassium supplements for my senior cat. The pills the vet sold me were difficult to crush and were so bitter that my cat wouldn't eat it, no matter what I tried to put it into. Cats are picky eaters anyway so this approach didn't work well for us. Finally after doing a lot of research online, I came across this product. I mix it with his wet food and he eats it without hesitation. I highly recommend this product for both quality and price.

Product Meets Vet Requirement for K
February 28, 2016
We looked for a source to purchase potassium (K) supplement for the dog that the vet required for his heart condition. This one met the need completely. It is easy to use on the dog's food. It smells bad, but the dog doesn't seem to mind and waffles his food down. We have ordered it several times for this use.

Potassium supplement
July 5, 2015
My vet had prescribed the Renal K gel which is a bit messy. I searched and found there was the same product by the same company but in a dry form that you sprinkle on the food. Since my cat eats only wet food, it was simple to sprinkle the proper amount on her food twice a day. She is 18 years old and has some renal failure that she also gets RenAvast for so it was easy to just sprinkle the KCL and RenAvast on her food. I don't think she even realizes there's anything on her food as she eats it with gusto!! Great for the VERY senior feline!!

Great product to help renal cats
July 1, 2015
I've used this product for a few years & it seems to help slow down the inevitable progression of CRF in cats. It's easy to use - they don't hesitate eating their food with it mixed in.

My 19 year old cat Taz would not be alive without this product. He hated the paste version but I mix this powder with his crushed pill for his hyperthyroidism and give it to him by oral syringe. Great product!!!

helped my 19 yr. old kitty
June 12, 2015
I'm no doctor - but when my 19 yr. old kitty was diagnosed with stage 2 renal failure, a friend recommended Renal-K be added to her diet - in addition to the other things my vet was advising. All I know is, her bloodwork for the past 2 years has actually improved a bit so that makes me happy!

My 19 year old cat has had kidney failure for several years. Renal K helps him and it was suggested by my Vet. The powder is a much better deal.

This is a great potassium supplement
May 11, 2015
My elderly dog was diagnosed with a potassium deficiency and I was spending about $35.00 a month on his supplement from the vet. With a little research I discovered that Renal K was just as effective a source for potassium at about 1/2 the cost at Entirely Pets.

Renal K equals no nausea!
March 20, 2015
My vet recommended I add potassium to my very old cat's diet. So I found the Renal K powder and have been using it. This has significantly reduced the amount of time I spend cleaning up my kitty's vomit. He feels much better also. It is very easy to add the powder to his food and he doesn't fuss about it at all.

cat loves Remal K+ powder
March 14, 2015
my scaredy cat is 19 and for the last year has been on the gel form of Renal K+. She hates it! The vet told me about the powder form that I could order so I did. Maggie loves it! Why the vet doesn't sell the powder instead of the gel I have NO idea, but very glad that she recommended the powder. Maggie has even increased the amount of food that she eats (she is old and thinning)

She eats it
March 14, 2015
Our 13 1/2 year old Jack Russell Terrier has kidney problems. The vet originally gave her the gel type of this product. She would not eat it when mixed with her food. I finally had to wrap it with a piece of meat or cheese. And the gel seemed to go so quickly. This powder lasts so much longer, and therefore, is more economical to use. The most important thing--she eats it.

timing is everything
February 16, 2015
unfortunately for my kitty it was too late. She was over 17 years old and succumbed to a host of issues including kidney disease, pancreatitis and old age. I would however recommend using this product immediately in combination with EPAKITIN if your pet is diagnosed with kidney disease. I mixed both Renal K and Epakitin in her canned food and she ate them up. I had started dosing her with the Epakitin which kept her nauseousness down and only started using the Renal K late into her treatment. I wholeheartedly believe that these products helped to prolong her life and made her more comfortable.

My cat almost died from lack of potassium. Lucky we caught it in time. This product mixes easy with water and must taste good because our cat drinks the water twice a day without complaints. She is doing much better as long as she takes this. In addition, this Company is very customer supportive. I had some delivery issues and they promptly took care of it.

We have two 17 1/2 year old sister cats with CRF, one worse than the other. Loss of vital nutrients and minerals through constant urination is part of the misery of this disease. The necessary elements of food is washed out of their systems and weakness and weight loss is the result. Losing potassium is a special concern especially for muscle wasting. Renal K+ has been an excellent supplement to alleviate this problem. I give it to the girls twice a day and it has kept their potassium levels within the normal range, nothing short of a miracle. Thank you so much for such a wonderful product.

Worked wonders
January 16, 2015
My 16-year-old cat has kidney disease. Her potassium levels sunk below normal. My vet put her on the gel version of this product, but she refused it. We switched her to this powder version and began sprinkling it on her food twice a day. It's a month later and her potassium levels are back to normal. Even better, she likes the taste of this product so much that she licks her plate clean and has begun to gain weight.

Cat refuses to eat food mixed with Renal K+!

Not only did he refuse to eat his cat food mixed with Renal K+, he refused to eat a new helping of food after his dish was thoroughly washed. We had to use a different plate!

We have a Stage 2 CRD kitty who has to have Potassium supplementation daily. He's been on the Vetquinol Renal K+ for many months. It's cost effective and easy to dose. Has the added benefits of Vitamin B12 supplementation which helps keep his energy up. We just mix the Potassium into his food and he doesn't even know it''s there!

Renal K Powder is a Godsend!
April 16, 2014
I was at my wits end with an elderly cat who has kidney problems that deplete her potassium and Vitamin B. Got Tumil K powder from my vet and spent eons of time trying to disguise the awful taste so she would eat it in some sort of food. Found the Potassa Chews online that said they were palatable and got them. They still tasted bad and I could not get her to eat them. This has really no taste. I can put it on anything I can even mix it in her canned cream evening treat! Ohmigod what a relief! This stuff is great!

great potassium gluconate supplement
October 17, 2013
Found Renal K powder on internet while looking for pill form for my 10 year old Maine Coon. I was tired of "wearing" the liquid potassium supplement he was taking and hated. I sprinkle the amount my vet recommended on his moist food, twice a day, and he eats without a problem. His potassium level has improved and is in normal range. Manufacturer has an 800# and is really helpful if you have any questions.

Chemny has perked up immensely since he started to use Vetoquinol. The product mixes well with his soft food and he seems to enjoy the flavor (he's not a fan of soft food). Plus, his checkups show the product is helping his blood chemistry.

Good Price & Lasts A Long Time
July 5, 2013
I've been buying the Renal K for awhile now from Entirely Pets. My Vet offered me the gel which costs alot more and I go through it in a couple of weeks. So, the powdered Renal K is less expensive and it lasts for a month or so.

Review for Vetoquinol Renal K+ (100 gm)
March 9, 2013
My old cat has kidney disease and the Renal K+ was recommended by my vet to normalize her potassium levels. I sprinkle a tiny scoop on her food with each meal. She doesn't even know it is there, and her potassium levels continue to improve.

Another great product...
February 14, 2013
to assist cats, who are potassium deficient. THAT said do not give any form of potassium without a vet's guidance (this goes for people as well). I didn't realize it was not for advanced renal failure, and hence can not use it - it states on the back of the product (did not find it in the review) that cats with advanced renal failure should avoid this product. This is one product that needs veterinarian guidance.

Tastes Good and Works Well
November 6, 2012
I waited until after my cat's latest blood test to leave a review. The vet said 'whatever you are doing, keep doing it". Her potassium had been low, and the vet had given me huge tablets that freaked her out and a gel that wasn't much better. In desperation I found these sprinkles on line and tried them out. She eats them without complaint and evidently they work just as well as the vet supplied meds. Will be buying more.

The vet prescribed Renal K for my 15 yo cat. She has low potassium and high blood pressure. Spike is starting to get her muscle mass back. I was so happy to find Renal K without having to get a prescription for it. Spike went in for her checkup today. She is definitely doing better. No it did not happen overnight. Thank you for offering this product at a price I can afford.

Renal K+ may have saved my cats' life
January 7, 2012
Note: this product, in my opinion, should Only be used under the guidance of your Veterinarian. That said: My cat has a low potassium level, but his kidneys are doing fine. Therefore he needs, specifically, the active ingredient in Renal K+ - Potassium Gluconate. I was paying a compounding pharmacy $40 per month to make the supplement, which was too expensive. With Renal K+ I get a three month supply in each container. If you are interested in using Renal K+, ask your vet to be sure. Potassium is not to be given lightly or inappropriately. After bringing the product to the attention of my vet, I add the vet prescribed amount to 2cc of water (less water was too salty and kitty didn't like it), dissolve the Renal K+ into the water, suction the solution up into a syringe and offer it by mouth twice daily. Just last month his blood level of potassium was in the normal range. It's working Great! EntirelyPets gets the product to me quickly, always wrapped well, and best of all the price is right. I couldn't ask for a better solution to my cats' problem. He has been on Renal K+ through EntirelyPets.com for almost a year now and he is doing great! Thank you EntirelyPets for carrying Renal K+ Carolyn

Easy to administer
December 10, 2011
We use this potassium gluconate powder for a kitty who has IBD and requires extra potassium. The powder can be dissolved in water and administered with a baby medicine dropper or sprinkled into wet food. It apparently doesn't mess with the flavor enough to put off the cat. It is very convenient and much better than having to pill him with a rock-like potassium pill that might upset his stomach. Comes with a measuring spoon and lasts for months. It does not contain B vitamins as the Web page states.

easy to give, cats like it
April 17, 2009
My 3 senior cats take this potassium supplement per our vet's instructions. It's easy to give - I just mix it in with a portion of their canned food, and even my pickiest cat doesn't mind. It makes a huge difference in how they feel. Thank you entirelypets.com for carrying this!
